Electoral Process
I believe in the electoral process. Some pros are that it contributes to the cohesiveness of the country by requiring a distribution of popular support to be elected president, enhances the status of minority interests, contributes to the political stability of the nation by encouraging a two-party system, and
maintains a federal system of government and representation. Cons are
the possibility of electing a minority president, the risk of so-called "faithless" Electors,
the possible role of the Electoral College in depressing voter turnout, and its failure to accurately reflect the national popular will.

Voter Apathy
The election cycle could be shorter. Changing the voting laws so that polls are open later. Fine people who don't vote. Make it that you can vote online or by txt.
Make it easier to register to vote. The candidates could have more debates and conventions to see different voters.

History of the Elephants and Donkeys
Republican HistoryFounded in Northern States in 1854 by anti-slavery activists, modernizers, ex-Whigs and ex-Free Soilers, the Republican Party quickly became the principal opposition to the dominant Democratic Party and the briefly popular Know Nothing Party. The main cause was opposition to the Kansas–Nebraska Act, which repealed the Missouri Compromise by which slavery was kept out of Kansas. The Republicans saw the expansion of slavery as a great evil. The first public meeting where the name "Republican" was suggested for a new anti-slavery party was held on March 20, 1854 in a schoolhouse in Ripon, Wisconsin. The first official party convention was held on July 6, 1854 in Jackson, Michigan. By 1858, the Republicans dominated nearly all Northern states. The Republican Party first came to power in 1860 with the election of Lincoln to the Presidency and Republicans in control of Congress and the northern states. It oversaw the saving of the union, the destruction of slavery, and the provision of equal rights to all men in the American Civil War and Reconstruction, 1861-1877.
Democrat History
The modern Democratic Party was formed in the 1830s from former factions of the Democratic-Republican Party, which had largely collapsed by 1824. It was built by Martin Van Buren who rallied a cadre of politicians in every state behind war hero Andrew Jackson of Tennessee.[3]
The spirit of Jacksonian Democracy animated the party from the early 1830s to the 1850s, shaping the Second Party System, with the Whig Party the main opposition. After the disappearance of the Federalists after 1815, and the Era of Good Feelings (1816–24), there was a hiatus of weakly organized personal factions until about 1828–32, when the modern Democratic Party emerged along with its rival the Whigs. The new Democratic Party became a coalition of farmers, city-dwelling laborers, and Irish Catholics. It was weakest in New England, but strong everywhere else and won most national elections thanks to strength in New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia (by far, the most populous states at the time), and the frontier. Democrats opposed elites and aristocrats, the Bank of the United States, and the whiggish modernizing programs that would build up industry at the expense of the yeoman or independent small farmer.

Federalism My Blog
+.The idea of a federal organization of more or less self-governing units and to me Federalism means the government has the power.
2.The Expressed, Implied, and Inherent Powers. Expressed powers go to the government spelled out by the Constitution. Implied powers are not said in the Constitution but are enforced. Inherent powers belong to the National Government because it is a government of a sovereign state.
3.Te principle or system of vesting in separate branches the executive, legislative, and judicial powers of a government. So one person can't control what we do.
4. a clause in Article VI of the U.S. Constitution that declares the constitution, laws, and treaties of the federal government to be the supreme law of the land to which judges in every state are bound regardless of state law to the contrary.

It told me the powers of the Government and what federalism is.

Lawmakers want Facebook FTC probe-Summary
In this story Ed Markey, Representive of Massachusetts, and Joe Barton, Representive of Texas, were angry at Facebook for having cookies sent to their computer even after they logged off Facebook. They filed a complaint to the FTC for an investigation on the social-networking site. A spokesman from Facebook said "there was no security or privacy breach? Facebook did not store or use any information it should not have." The spokesman added that three cookies on some users' computers "inadvertently included unique identifiers when the user had logged out of Facebook." After Facebook was alerted about the cookies they fixed them so it wouldn't happen again.

1st Assignment
The 2nd amendment states that, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Meaning that if your in the Army, Navy, Air Force, etc, your have the right to own a firearm or if your an American citizen you also have the right to own a firearm. I agree that Americans should be able to own a firearm even if they aren't affiliated in the military.
The 3rd amendment states that, "No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law." This means that without permission from the owner of the house, that soldiers just can't stay in a house if they feel like it. I agree with this because it would be really annoying if soliders went into people's house just because they need to stay.
